What is microneedling?

Microneedling, also commonly known as collagen induction therapy, creates hundreds of tiny pinholes in the top layer of skin or epidermis by using a FDA approved electronic device called the SkinPen. These superficial, tiny pinholes induce a healing process. This process essentially tricks the body into thinking the skin is actually damaged. As a result new collagen is created, which improves damage caused by acne scars, sunspots, wrinkles, and numerous other skin imperfections.

Benefits?

Improves Appearance of Skin

Microneedling has been shown to improve the damage caused by many different types of skin imperfections including acne scars, sun spots, melasma, thinning, sagging, and wrinkles.

Natural and Non-Invasive

Compared to other aesthetics options, microneedling with PRP, is non-invasive and does not use surgery, injections, or harsh lasers to achieve the benefits.

The Body Heals Itself

Microneedling with PRP jump-starts the body’s healing response. It’s this reaction that causes new collagen to form, which improves skin imperfections like scars, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and enlarged pores.

Short Recovery with Minimal Down Time

Avoiding the sun, makeup, synthetic-based creams is critical for the first 24 hours and application of collagen boosting serum is highly advised to obtain maximum results. Mild redness or pinkness, with skin tightening, warmth to the surface of skin, and mild irritation are common for the first 18-24 hours.

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a treatment, which is specific to each patient. Blood is drawn from the patient and then processed to separate platelets, which are responsible for blood clotting, from the other parts of the blood such as red cells. After the treatment is finished, the patient’s platelets are then topically applied to the treatment area using the microneedling SkinPen.

Microneedling with PRP

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is typically combined with microneedling treatments to act as a “booster” or “fertilizer” for even more dramatic results. This liquid gold substance is extremely potent in growth factors taken from your own blood, and then massaged over the open micro-channels from microneedling. This kickstarts a huge amount of collagen production in the skin, which repairs damaged skin resulting from acne scarring, breaks up sun spots and hyperpigmentation, tightens lax skin, plumps out fine lines and wrinkles, reduces pore size, and refines texture. Once PRP is in the skin, it essentially plants itself in the deepest layers to continuously produce collagen over time for extended results. It is considered a natural filler and can be injected to plump out areas that have experienced volume loss.
